John W Foley B.Ec. MBA
Managing Director

Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, John is a graduate Economist from the University of Adelaide. He has also undertaken graduate studies in Finance at the Securities Institute of Australia, Deakin University and Macquarie Graduate School of Management. John has a Masters of Management Degree and a Master of Business Administration
.

In 1997 John was admitted as a Senior Associate of The Australian Institute of Banking and Finance.

John’s career started with Westpac Financial Markets, specialising in foreign exchange and corporate banking, where he worked for 5 years. Seeking to assist individuals with their finances, John worked in a boutique financial planning office for 4 years before launching his own private company and financial planning practice Star Capital Management Pty Ltd. In 2002.

In 2006 John launched Star Bookkeeping Solutions Pty Ltd providing bookkeeping services to small and medium size enterprises. John has practiced as a qualified financial planner for the past 10 years and currently deals with successful companies as clients and high net worth individuals in Australia, the Unites States, Europe and Asia.

John is motivated by helping people create and protect wealth and empowering them to prosper.


Lorena Millett ADFS (FP)
Financial Adviser

Lorena Millett is an Authorised Representative of Apogee Financial Planning Ltd. Lorena has over 5 years experience in the Financial Services Industry and her qualifications include an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).

Lorena is currently completing her Certified Financial Planner qualification with the Financial Planning Association of Australia.



Rob van Dalen
Operations Manager, Executive Assistant to John Foley

Born and raised in The Netherlands, Rob moved to Australia in 2001 where he successfully developed his own IT and internet services company.

Rob’s employment history has seen him work with several businesses in a variety of management and operational roles, with his primary focus on management.

Robs first role was as an Assistant Manager at age 19, working at one of Holland’s biggest conference centres. In 1994 he became Operations Manager for a non-profit organization where he was employed for a number of years, before being appointed as an IT Manager for a cooling company in 1997. In 1999 Rob became a partner of a rapidly growing software/hardware company before moving to Australia in 2001.

Once in Australia Rob worked as an Office Manager for a jewellery distributor, before commencing employment with Star Capital Management as Operations Manager in 2006.

Rob is currently studying for his Diploma of Financial Services.


Richard Peterson ADFS
Paraplanner

Richard has been working in the area of banking and finance for the past 7 years and has spent several years in advising and paraplanning roles. This experience has enabled him to become an expert in modelling client financial strategies and advising on taxation and wealth creation strategies.

Richard has spent most of his career working for Australia’s largest banks. He is ADFS qualified and is currently studying towards a MBA.

Richard has extensive experience in the leading financial planning software programs and uses this experience to provide an efficient service when creating client’s Statements of Advice. Richard is passionate about servicing clients and hopes to bring this drive to providing thorough Statements of Advice specifically tailored to the client’s needs.


Amanda Blume
Accounts
